In contrast, the diachronic perspective to the study of construction grammar is at its early stage. This paper systematically analyzes recent achievements of the diachronic study of construction grammar and elaborates the theory of Diachronic Construction Grammar and its core concepts. The study of Diachronic Construction Grammar aims not only to enrich methods of studying language change, but also to provide evidence for synchronic studies of construction grammar.
