摘 要： 上古汉语语篇中的省略比现代汉语语篇中更多。本文对上古汉语叙事语篇中的省略模式及规律进行考察，分析了语段话题在语篇省略中的控制因素，发现上古汉语中语段话题控制与其同指的小句主语的省略力度很大，即使中间有由不同于语段话题的成分做主语的小句插入，后续的与语段话题同指的主语仍然可以省略。语段话题可以控制兼语的省略，而在现代汉语中，兼语一般是不能省略的。上古汉语中的语段话题还可以压制与其不同指且不重要的小句主语以有形形式出现，这样做是为了防止分散读者的注意力，保证语篇的连贯性。这一语篇组织策略有可能导致“受事主语句”这种句法结构的形成，也说明语篇中的常用策略可能固化为句法结构形式，即发生句法化。 关 键 词： 语段话题 省略 上古汉语 叙事语篇 受事主语句 作者简介： 董秀芳 北京大学中文系/北京大学中国语言学研究中心/北京大学计算语言学教育部重点实验室 xdong@pku.edu.cn 相关信息： 本文的研究得到国家社科基金重大项目“功能-类型学取向的汉语语义演变研究”（项目批准号：14ZDB098）、国家社科基金重大项目“基于多学科视域的认知研究”（项目批准号：12&ZD119）以及北京大学中国语言学研究中心的资助（CCL201301）。本文曾在“国际中国语言学学会第二十届学术年会”（2012，香港）、“第六届国际古汉语语法研讨会”（2013，首尔）以及“北京大学斯坦福中心/中文系历史语法研讨会”（2014，北京）上宣读。 （本文刊于《中国语文》2015年第4期（总第367期）P.306-314） Topic-controlled ellipsis pattern in Ancient Chinese Dong Xiufang Abstract： This paper analyzes the patterns of ellipsis, occurring less frequently in Modern Chinese, in the narrative texts in Ancient Chinese. It finds that discourse topics play a significant role in controlling the ellipsis of some constituents in the following aspects: (1)the subject co-referenced with the topic tends to be omitted, even if between their respective clauses appear other clauses with quite different subjects. (2)Discourse topics even control the omission of the pivotal constituents, which is not allowed in Modern Chinese. (3)Even the subjects having different reference from the topic can be deleted on some occasions, especially when it is supposed to prevent the readers from distraction and to maintain the consistency of narration. This strategy may have facilitated the formation of the later prevailing patient-as-subject clauses. The paper also indicates that a frequently used discourse strategy may possibly be realized as a syntactic structure, or syntacticalized.
